Veterans and Their Equine Partners
It’s All About HORSE
It has been said by one of our fellow horsemen:
“Horses are majestic creatures that embody a blend of raw strength, elegant grace and deep intelligence, captivating human admiration for centuries. They represent freedom and power with a resilient spirit.”
We wholeheartedly concur. Our daily interactions with Veterans and their equine partners reinforce our concept of The Horse being the Veterans’ Best Friend.
Through the My Horse & Me Project, our veterans demonstrate the ability to withstand, recover from, and adapt to significant challenges and stressful environments. In addition, hands-on interaction with horses helps develop physical strength and dexterity.
Whether in an Adaptive Sports Competition such as Driving (a Horse & Carriage Skill Set), reflective time grooming the horse in its stall, or stretch exercises for the horse and the Veteran, those moments are meaningful for both the Veteran and his or her equine partner.
Their journey to wellness and physical excellence allows them to compete, overcome limitations, and continue moving forward with confidence.
My Horse & Me Project
Our Veterans have found in the Project of My Horse & Me a way to be recognized by others and, more importantly, by themselves for the precision abilities they perform valiantly.
We award them with our praise and our Equine Medal of Triumph!
